Former Bayern Munich, Wolfsburg and Schalke coach Felix Magath has no intention of returning to the game as he approaches his 60th birthday.
Magath left Wolfsburg early last season as the club struggled at the foot of the Bundesliga and he has been out of work since, a situation he says he is growing increasingly used to.
"As time goes by, I'm no longer so sure that I really want to return," he told the Welt newspaper. "When I left Wolfsburg, I wanted to come back to coaching after a certain time.
"I have been involved in football all my life, playing and coaching was my passion, but the question now is whether I really want to leave my family, who
live in Munich, again.
"Do I want to leave my children, who have friends and go to school in Munich? Do I want to miss out on seeing them grow? One of my biggest regrets was not having time for the three children from my first marriage because I became a professional footballer with Hamburg.
"So the question is: am I stupid enough to do it all again? It's not like I'm missing anything."
Magath led Bayern Munich to back-to-back league and cup doubles before arguably the greatest achievement of his coaching career in 2009 when he guided an unfancied Wolfsburg side to their first ever Bundesliga title.
He was unable to replicate that success upon returning to Wolfsburg last season, however, and has enjoyed being away from the "constant internal and public pressure" of coaching since.
