Mackie, who only joined QPR from League Two side Plymouth Argyle last year, admits this fixture was one of the first he looked out. "This is why I got involved in the game," he told the club's official website. "I am massively looking forward to this weekend - it is probably one of the highlight fixtures of the season. "Anfield is an unbelievable place to play football. It is going to be a great atmosphere up there, and I am sure our fans are looking forward to it as much as we are. "My dad is a Liverpool supporter and there are a few lads in the dressing room who support them too, so it is going to be a special match. "But we have got to work hard to try and bring our good recent football into this game. We want to go there and get a positive result." Mackie has earned his way back into the first team after a 10-month injury lay-off and he wants to prove that he can cope with the high demands of the Premier League. He added: "I want to show I can do well in this division. I feel I have done that already, but I want to do it again. "Liverpool have got world-class defenders and I am looking forward to giving them a good test."
