Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has urged patience from his side's supporters as he looks to prepare for life in the Premier League.

The Bluebirds have been linked with a number of players following promotion from the Championship last month but the Scot says they might have to play the waiting game to secure the signings he desires.

"The fact is some deals are going to happen quickly and then others are going to take a while to happen," he told the South Wales Echo. "It really is all about individual cases.

"I would love every player in to do pre-season with me, go away with me and be here for the start of the season - but invariably they are not.

"There is going to need to be a bit of patience, but I think our supporters already know that when they look at the way we've gone about our signings over the last two seasons.

"This season will not be any different. I would like everyone in tomorrow, but that is never going to happen."
