Federico Macheda expects to return to Manchester United once his loan spell with Sampdoria finishes at the end of the season.
The Italian striker joined the Genoa-based club in the January transfer window after four goals in 27 appearances for Man United. He scored his first goal for his new club in the Italian Cup win over Udinese in midweek.
The 19-year-old Macheda was quoted as saying in Saturday's Gazzetta dello Sport that ''I have always said that my objective is to go back to Manchester. I love English football and United is the best there is.''
Macheda joined United in 2007 from Lazio, scoring his first goal in 2009 against Aston Villa.
