Huddersfield defender Anthony Gerrard has had his three-match suspension rescinded upon appeal.
The Terriers disputed the centre-back's ban, which he incurred during the second half of the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace for a tackle on Yannick Bolasie, and were successful with their protest.
Gerrard, who scored against Blackpool on Boxing Day, will now face no punishment and is available for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Black Cats supporters who persistently stand throughout matches have been suspended from using their season tickets for games at the Stadium of Light.
A photo circulated on Twitter shows a seat with a note on it saying: "This season card has been suspended due to persistent standing."
The club have issued a warning on their website about people who break the law on standing during matches and insist they must act to protect the safety and the view of other fans.
They say they have received an "increasing number of complaints", particularly from fans in the South Stand, which say the game is being spoiled by others who stand throughout the 90 minutes.
The club said 38 fans have been ejected from the Stadium of Light so far, compared to just 20 last season.
Head of safety and security Paul Weir said: "We certainly don't wish to spoil the enjoyment of any supporters, we want a vibrant lively matchday atmosphere just as much as the fans do, but we also have legal obligations that we must be seen to be adhering to.
"We also have a duty of care to all of our supporters, including elderly and disabled fans who have contacted us very concerned that their enjoyment on a matchday is being compromised because people around them stand throughout the game.
"Naturally we want to ensure a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone at the Stadium of Light and we'd ask supporters to listen to requests from stewards and help us to eradicate persistent standing for the sake of all fans."
There has been a mixed reaction on the Sunderland fans' Ready to Go online forum, with some welcoming the club's stance but others complaining the move will discourage a noisy atmosphere at the ground.
The winger, 24, joined the Championship club on loan earlier in the season and has made five appearances for Neil Warnock's men so far, while also featuring heavily for their Under-21 side.
The Whites have now announced Hall will pen a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee in the new year, becoming the first permanent signing under the club's new owners GFH Capital.
Hall scored 14 goals in 54 appearances for Southend last season.
Southend's official website read: "Everyone at Southend United would like to wish Ryan all the best at his new club."
Meanwhile, Leeds boss Warnock told their club website: "When we brought Ryan in I said 'I believe he is a player with potential for a big future'.
"I'm sure during the length of his contract Ryan will have the opportunity to establish himself at this level, and you can see that from his contribution at Huddersfield a few weeks ago."

Leeds boss Neil Warnock has issued a hand-off warning to clubs eyeing striker Luciano Becchio, who has been linked with Wigan. Warnock said: "I don't think we'll lose anybody we want to keep. I can guarantee that while I'm in charge and they're (new Leeds owners GFH Capital) in charge there'll be no key players leaving here - unless we want them to leave." Warnock hopes to strike a permanent deal to land Michael Tonge after his loan from Stoke came to an end, and also wants to sign up on-loan pair Alan Tate and Jerome Thomas on permanent deals.

Bolton's on-loan full-back Stephen Warnock is expected to sign a second loan deal from Aston Villa within the next few days.

Motherwell boss Stuart McCall admits he could lose some of his players in January. He said: "I think we'll lose one player in January, but any scouts at the game probably went away with five or six names on a piece of paper."
The Burnley striker has had two loan spells at Home Park, the second of which came to an end at the beginning of December.
And Fletcher has confirmed that the only thing standing in the way of a swoop is finances.
"He wants to come, we want him here. Verbally, it's all done," Fletcher told Plymouth's official website. "We have just to wait on the finances.
"We have got nothing to play with at the moment and we have got to see where we go with that.
"Like any business, you have got to run it properly. With all the trouble we have had over the past few years, there's no point in throwing money about.
