Lyon president promises Lacazette mammoth pay rise to stay at club
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has pledged to give star forward Alexandre Lacazette a substantial salary rise should he sign a new deal with the club.
The France international finished as Ligue 1's top scorer last season as he notched 27 league goals in the campaign - a new benchmark for the Rhone outfit.
As a result, interest in his signature has reportedly been forthcoming from the likes of Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, and Lyon are now keen to tie him down to a long-term deal.
"We have offered him a salary that will give him at least 4 million euros [£2.9m] per year," Aulas admitted. "I have to say this because we are publicly floated on the stock market. If he agrees to stay at OL for one or two more years, he will be the biggest earner at the club."
Lacazette has been at Lyon since the age of 12 and has progressed through their ranks to make over 180 top-team appearances. He is contracted to the club until 2018 but has been largely noncommittal as to his future.
Aulas has previously stated that Lyon will not allow their prized asset to leave for anything short of 50 million euros (£35.7m).
