Lorient defender Lucas Mareque will undergo surgery on a groin injury on Thursday and will be sidelined for around two months.
The Ligue 1 club announced the news on Wednesday after Mareque saw a specialist in Paris the previous day.
Lorient is fourth in the standings, five points behind league leader Marseille.
