Long nets winner as West Brom beats Bolton 2-1

Shane Long returned from injury to score the winning goal in West Bromwich Albion's 2-1 victory over Bolton in the English Premier League on Saturday.
The Ireland striker, back after nearly a month out with a knee injury, headed home Nicky Shorey's cross in the 56th minute to earn West Brom a first win in three matches, lifting the Midlands team back into mid-table.
''It was an easy decision when Shane was declared fit because he is a good player and when he doesn't play, we miss him,'' West Brom manager Roy Hodgson said of his team's top scorer with four goals.
Winger Jerome Thomas put the hosts in front in the 16th minute but gave away the penalty that Croatia striker Ivan Klasnic converted to equalize five minutes later.
Bolton's ninth defeat in 12 matches leaves Owen Coyle's struggling side in the relegation zone.
''We were terrific in the first half and squandered some good chances,'' Coyle said. ''In the second half, we lost the individual battles and if you give West Brom time on the ball, they have got good players that can create chances.''
