Liverpool's American owner has promoted Damien Comolli to director of football and made Ian Ayre the new managing director.
Comolli was hired as director of football strategy in November, while Ayre has been commercial director since 2007.
Principal owner John Henry says the appointments will help ''move the club forward in the 21st century.''
Ayre replaces Christian Purslow, who oversaw Liverpool's sale from Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr. to the Boston Red Sox ownership group in October.

Comolli, Tottenham's former sporting director, helped the club buy forwards Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in the January transfer window.
Liverpool is sixth in the Premier League.
