LIVERPOOL, England (AP) Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has broken his right foot and could be out for up to eight weeks.
The 25-year-old Henderson sustained the injury in training on Friday and is expected to have an operation on Monday.
Henderson confirmed he is injured on Twitter, saying he is ''very disappointed and frustrated with the injury setback but will work hard to be back as quickly as possible.''
The midfielder has not played for Liverpool since Aug. 17, where he came off with a left heel injury after 52 minutes of the 1-0 win against Bournemouth.
