Best remembered for his time at Anfield, Rush also had previous playing spells with Chester City, Leeds United, Juventus, Newcastle United, Sheffield United, Wrexham and Sydney Olympic. In addition to his club feats, Rush made 73 appearances for the Wales national team, and remains Wales’ top scorer with 28 goals between 1980 and 1996.
The Welsh footballer retired from the beautiful game in 2000, and was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2006. Well known for his distinct mustache during his playing days, Rush continues to contribute to the game of soccer in various ways.
Recently, Liverpool and FOX Soccer teamed up to offer viewers a six-episode series, “Our Liverpool: Never Walk Alone,” that will air later in the fall of 2012. The show will provide an all-access look at one of the world’s most succesful clubs, along with a special peak at the hollowed locker rooms of Anfield.
Fortunately for Reds fans, Liverpool will battle Tottenham at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, July 28, which will allow Americans to see two of the top Premier League’s clubs in action.
Rush will address those topics as well as answer users’ questions in a moderated session starting at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, 10:00 a.m. Pacific.
