Lewandowski exit confirmed

Robert Lewandowski will be leaving Borussia Dortmund within the next 18 months after turning down the club's offer of a new contract, according to Dortmund's director of sport Michael Zorc.

Lewandowski, who has been heavily linked with a move to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, is tied to the Westphalian club until 2014 but Zorc told Germany's Sky television that he will not be signing a new deal.

The player's agent has informed Zorc that his client has no intention of staying on, meaning the only question is when the Poland international will leave Dortmund.

"Either he goes in June, or he stays another year," said Zorc.

Previously, Munich's Munchner Merkur newspaper had claimed that a deal had already been done between Lewandowski and Bayern, and that an official announcement would be made after last night's cup tie.

However, no announcement was forthcoming and Bayern have been keen to ignore the issue, with their director of sport Mathias Sammer recently saying he would "no longer comment" on the transfer speculation.

Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, chose to start some speculation of his own about Bayern's players after dismissing the Lewandowski issue.

"It doesn't interest us in the slightest," he told ARD television. "All I can say is what we have been repeating for weeks now.

"But what I would like to know is where Arjen Robben and Mario Gomez will be playing next season.

"I don't think they are going to stick around there for another season, so that's going to be intriguing."
