Spanish club Levante has named Juan Martinez as its new coach for the 2011-12 season.
Martinez arrives after two seasons in charge of Spanish second division team Cartagena and has never coached in the topflight before.
Martinez said on Friday that ''I have spent 20 years in the lower divisions and even in women's football. I am completely happy.''
The 46-year-old Spanish manager signed a one-year deal with the club.

Martinez is known for the attacking style of his teams. He said ''it is true that my coaching philosophy is based on an elaborate passing attack, but at this level we have to be practical.''
Last season, Levante finished 14th in La Liga after earning promotion the previous year.
