Xerez has fired coach Jose Angel Ziganda with the Spanish league club bottom of the standings.

Xerez is winless in 12 matches and has lost six straight to sit last with seven points - six adrift of second-last Zaragoza. Xerez has scored a league-low seven goals from 17 games.

The club says technical secretary Antonio Poyatos will take over until a new coach is hired.

The 43-year-old Ziganda, who previously led Osasuna, is the fifth coach to be fired in Spain this season. He follows coaching changes at Atletico Madrid, Zaragoza, Almeria and Racing Santander.
