Mired in last place in the Italian league, Bologna has fired Pierpaolo Bisoli and hired Stefano Pioli as its new coach.
The club made the announcements Tuesday, two days after a 2-0 loss at Udinese.
Bologna has only one point from its opening five Serie A matches and has scored just two goals and conceded 10.
Bisoli replaced Alberto Malesani at the end of last season after Bologna narrowly avoided relegation, while Pioli was fired by Palermo before the season began.

Pioli has also previously managed seven other clubs, including Parma and Chievo Verona.
Serie A is currently on break for international fixtures, with Bologna's next match at Novara on Oct. 16.
