The 32-year-old former England international has started just one Premier League game and made six substitute appearances for the Potters this season after struggling with a long-running knee complaint. Following a reported bust-up with manager Tony Pulis in December regarding the team Christmas party, Beattie was linked with a move during the January transfer window. And Pulis confirmed the striker, who has one year left on his contract, is now facing a spell of rehabilitation. "We're told James could be out for five to six weeks," Pulis told the Sentinel. "He might be fit enough for the last three or four games, we'll just have to see. "We've got Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United in our last three fixtures, so we'll be putting out 15 players for those games anyway."
