Barnsley defender Tom Kennedy has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Kennedy joined the Tykes in September on non-contract terms and later signed a permanent deal until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old becomes only the second of seven out-of-contract players to commit his future to the club after Jason Scotland agreed a deal.

He has previously worked with Barnsley boss David Flitcroft at both Bury and Rochdale.
