Kean will gamble on Samba

Rovers' influential defender is a major doubt for Sunday's showdown at Molineux after suffering a groin and hamstring injury in their weekend draw with Manchester United. Samba is an integral member of Blackburn's backline and as the Ewood Park side cannot afford to lose in the Midlands Kean is willing to gamble on his fitness. Two more teams along with West Ham will be playing Championship football next term and even a draw may not be enough to guarantee another season of top-flight action. Kean knows Samba will be desperate to play against Mick McCarthy's side and, with so much resting on the Molineux clash, Rovers' boss is prepared for him to suffer a setback to aid the club's cause. "Samba felt his groin first, but stayed on and then his hamstring tightened," explained Kean. "But if there is a chance that the big fella can play he'll be dying to get out there. "You take risks in games like this. If we can take a risk on him then we will."
