Juventus star Pirlo reportedly set to join MLS with New York City FC

Andrea Pirlo will be introduced by New York City FC of Major League Soccer on Friday, according to a source.
Rumors of Pirlo's arrival in the United States' top league have been swirling for several weeks and only heated up when he attended Saturday night's game between the Yankees and Tigers at Yankee Stadium â also the home of NYCFC.
The 36-year-old Italian has been playing professionally since 1995. He played for Milan of Serie A from 2001-2011 and Juventus of the same league from 2012 until the end of this season.
Pirlo will join Frank Lampard, who played more than two decades in the English Premier League, at NYCFC, which began MLS play this season. The league has attracted a number of aging international superstars over recent years and Pirlo's addition will be a welcome one to soccer fans in both the United States and worldwide. Spain's David Villa, 33, also is a member of NYCFC.
A midfielder best known for his dazzling free kicks, Pirlo also has played 115 matches for Italy. He was a key component of Azzurri's 2006 World Cup title and has been playing for its international teams since age 15.
