Jordan's preparations for January's Asian Cup got off to a slow start with a 0-0 draw with Cyprus in a friendly on Tuesday.

The home side's best chance came in the first half when midfielder Amer Deeb evaded the Cyprus defense but saw his fierce shot hit the side netting.

That came shortly after Cyprus's Konstantinos Charalambi's 35-yard shot was saved by Jordan 'keeper Amer Shafei.

Both sides squandered chances in the second half.
