Jo's 77th-minute equaliser earned the visitors a 1-1 draw in Turin which saw City top their Europa League group. City included a number of fringe players in their starting XI, including young striker Alex Nimely. "I think a lot of players wanted to prove themselves and show what they could do," Johnson told ESPN. "I thought with the cances we created we should have scored a few more goals." It was an emotional night for Johnson, who admitted he was close to not playing following the death on Tuesday of Rushden and Diamonds goalkeeper Dale Roberts, a childhood friend of his, at the age of 24. "It was hard before the game trying to play," he said.
