Janko aims to fill Nkufo void

Janko has signed a four-year deal at Twente and will replace Nkufo, the Switzerland international striker who has moved to Major League Soccer outfit the Seattle Sounders. Crowd favourite Nkufo made over 220 appearances for Twente and 6ft 5in frontman Janko knows he has his work cut out to prove as effective. He said: "I have heard of his record here. They are big boots to fill." Janko is delighted to have joined Twente and is already relishing the chance to play in next season's Champions League under new boss Michel Preud'homme. He added: "FC Twente worked very hard to get me here and they have made me feel very welcome. "I was aware that Twente were the Dutch champions and it is a great opportunity for me to play in the Champions League. "I believe Twente is a team with a lot of potential and I hope we can surprise a few in the Champions League."
