Iya re-election rejected by Cameroon FF

The Cameroon Football Federation's ethics commission has rejected last week's vote re-electing Mohammed Iya as president while he is under arrest and facing possible charges of embezzling money at a public company.
The ethics commission's call for the June 19 elections to be re-organized was backed by Cameroon's Olympic committee.
State auditors say the national cotton company lost millions of dollars when Iya was managing director. He has been under arrest since June 10 and is being held in a prison pending trial. Prosecutors say he could be held for up to six months before trial while investigations continue.
Security forces blocked the entrance to the federation buildings in Yaounde on Thursday, with a police officer saying it was to make sure the ethics commission decision was ''respected.''
