Italy will attempt to follow its blueprint from four years ago by starting off its World Cup preparations with a friendly victory over the Netherlands on Saturday.
In November 2005, Italy beat the Netherlands 3-1 in Amsterdam, beginning a run that culminated with the country's fourth World Cup title in Germany a year later.
