Inter Milan striker Diego Milito and midfielder Esteban Cambiasso could both miss several weeks of action after injuring their left legs during Argentina's 1-0 loss to Japan in a friendly Friday.

Medical tests by Inter on Monday revealed muscle strains for both players.

The injuries could be a big blow for Inter, which has a thin bench after Mario Balotelli's offseason move to Manchester City. The only significant addition Inter made during the offseason was signing 18-year-old Brazil playmaker Coutinho.

Besides Serie A games, Milito and Cambiasso could each miss home and away Champions League matches against Tottenham, although they are expected back before the Club World Cup Dec. 8-18 in the United Arab Emirates.
