Sneijder opened the scoring for Inter in their 2-1 Italian Super Cup defeat to AC Milan in Beijing on Saturday and after the game Gasperini confirmed he would soon be holding discussions about the future of the playmaker. "As for the rumour of Sneijder leaving, we will talk about it next week," said the 53-year-old. Sneijder is widely believed to be Sir Alex Ferguson's preferred replacement for Paul Scholes at Manchester United, but reports on Sunday claim Manchester City have made a late attempt to sign the 27-year-old from under their rivals' noses.
