Inter Milan president Erik Thohir has revealed that Erik Lamela and Luiz Gustavo are on the club's radar, with a new signing expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks.

Nemanja Vidic has already agreed a deal to join Inter and they are now thought to be looking to bolster their midfield and attacking options.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Lamela has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A following a difficult first season at White Hart Lane, and he is said to be on the wish list of Inter boss Walter Mazzarri.

Mazzarri is also a fan of Wolfsburg midfielder Gustavo, according to Thohir, who is planning to discuss a new deal with the head coach soon.

"Mazzarri likes Lamela and Luiz Gustavo, but everything will depend on the situation of the market," Thohir told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"In about two weeks we hope to be able announce a new player.

"Mazzarri believes in our plan and we must sit around a table to talk about his renewal.

"I want the coach to work mostly with young players, the (average) age of players must be around 26 and a half years old. Football now is different to 15 years ago."

Napoli midfielder Valon Behrami is another player to have been linked with Inter Milan, and he has not ruled out a switch.

The Switzerland international played under Mazzarri during his time in charge at Napoli and he could see the advantages in joining Inter.

He is quoted as telling Blick.ch: "Me to Inter? I could remain living in my new home in Gentilino (Switzerland) because the training center of Inter is just over the border and I could arrive in only 30 minutes."
