Van der Vaart hurt his hamstring, not for the first time this season, and will definitely miss the prestige friendly with Germany in midweek. Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk said he had no idea of the severity of the problem but conceded he had no chance of featuring at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. Van der Vaart has already spent two spells on the sidelines with injury this season with his hamstring proving particularly fragile.
