Real Salt Lake and U.S. World Cup team midfielder Kyle Beckerman has pulled out of the MLS All-Star game because of an unspecified injury.

He was replaced Tuesday with Portland Timbers defender Liam Ridgewell for Wednesday night's match against Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich at Providence Park.

Beckerman sustained the injury during Saturday's RSL match against the Colorado Rapids.

MLS All-Star coach Caleb Porter, who also coaches the Timbers, made the decision to include Ridgewell so as not to disrupt other clubs and their preparation for MLS matches this week.

Ridgewell signed with the Timbers as a designated player from West Bromwich Albion of the English Premier League in late June. He spent the last 12 season with West Brom, Birmingham City and Aston Villa.
