Schalke striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar will be out of action for several weeks due to a knee injury sustained in his side's 4-0 defeat at Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The club says on its website that Huntelaar has a partial rupture to a ligament in his right knee following a collision with Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio.
The Netherlands forward will miss Schalke's Champions League playoff against PAOK on Wednesday and the away game in Greece the following Tuesday.
Schalke says ''the doctors expect an enforced break of several weeks.''
