Eddie Howe praised his Bournemouth side after they fought back to earn a point in an entertaining 3-3 draw at Notts County.
An equaliser in the 85th minute from substitute Matt Tubbs kept up Howe's unbeaten return to the Cherries after Jamal Campbell-Ryce looked to have won it minutes earlier for County from the penalty spot.
The home side had led 2-0 at half-time through goals by Jeff Hughes and Yoann Arquin but Bournemouth hit back in the second period courtesy of a Josh McQuoid strike and a Harry Arter penalty before the late drama.
Howe said: "We found ourselves 2-0 down against the run of play really. We had the best chances in the game and were well on top but suddenly we were 2-0 down and we're wondering how that happened.
"The players reacted really well and it was an excellent second half performance which put us back in the game.
"It could have been easy to give up the ghost and just think it's not your day but the players responded and we had a really good spell in the first 20 minutes of the second half and deserved to be level."
