Houston Dynamo won its opening match in Group Three of the CONCACAF Champions League by defeating Salvador's FAS 3-1 on Wednesday.
Brian Ching gave Houston Dynamo the lead in the 12th minute, banging in a bouncing header from a cross from Colin Clark. Dynamo scored again seven minutes later through Cam Weaver. Kofi Sarkodie, who set up the second goal, scored the third with a header in the 60th.
Jonathan Aguila scored for FAS in the 64th.
The early goals took FAS out of the match, and while the hosts had slightly more possession, they still lost their second straight match to begin the Group Three.
