Holt prepared to bide his time

The striker came off the bench to score for the third time this season at Loftus Road on Saturday, sealing a 2-1 Premier League win over Rangers. But while the 30-year-old is keen to return to Paul Lambert's first-choice line-up, he understands the manager's decision to rotate his squad. Holt told The Sun: "Of course I want to start, but in this division it is a squad game. "No-one ever plays 11 men for the whole season - it's too physically challenging. That's why the manager brought in a lot of bodies in the summer. "We have people like Zak Whitbread, Daniel Ayala, Simon Lappin and Adam Drury in the stands - that's what you need."
