Hoffenheim says it has signed striker Sven Schipplock from Bundesliga rival Stuttgart on a three-year contract.

Hoffenheim manager Ernst Tanner said Monday that the 22-year-old Schipplock has ''great potential.'' The striker has played 11 Bundesliga games for Stuttgart, scoring one goal.

Hoffenheim will have a new coach next season - Holger Stanislawski, who is joining from St. Pauli.

The team hopes to improve on a disappointing performance this season, which has seen Hoffenheim stuck in mid-table. With one round remaining, it is ninth in the 18-team Bundesliga.
