Gonzalo Higuain has returned to Real Madrid to continue his recovery from injury and is hopeful of playing again this season.
The Argentina striker underwent back surgery in Chicago on Jan. 11, a process he says provided ''total relief for my mind and body.''
Higuain told Real's website Thursday that he walked without pain the day after the operation, when he was released.
The 23-year-old was expected to be sidelined for up to four months.
