The Austrian soccer federation says Andreas Herzog will become assistant to U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann.
Herzog has the most international appearances for Austria. The former midfielder played 103 matches and scored 26 goals for the country between 1998-2003.
He left his post as coach of Austria's under-21 team late Friday, the federation said on Saturday.
No details about Herzog's contract with the U.S. soccer federation were revealed.
