Hertha Berlin are giving their fans free beer for last, crucial home game

Hertha Berlin fans will get a special treat when they turn up for the club's last home game of the season this weekend against Darmstadt: Free beer!

As part of the club's partnership with Warsteiner beer, the company pledged to donate 100 liters of beer for every goal Hertha scored this season. With 41 goals, that means 4,100 liters of beer that will be doled out to fans for Saturday's clash.

The free beer comes at a good time, too.

Hertha have been the surprise team of the Bundesliga all season, sitting in the top four for months. But a loss last weekend saw them fall to fifth and put their hopes of making next season's Champions League in doubt. A win against Darmstadt could throw them right back into the top four, though. And what better way to make sure their home fans will be loud and back them then with some free booze?

Or maybe the free beer will make the fans more surly if Hertha lose again? Let's go with the win part. That's way more fun and free beer should be fun.
