The 34-year-old scored nine Premier League goals last season and 28 in 80 appearances in all competition for the west London club after joining from Bolton in 2008. The former Iceland International frontman will take squad number 22 for the forthcoming season at Cardiff City Stadium. Helguson was expected to slip further down the pecking order at Loftus Road after QPR boss Mark Hughes moved to secure Andy Johnson and Junior Hoilett in recent weeks.
