The Cherries have invested heavily on and off the pitch during the summer and Redknapp has been impressed.
The former Spurs boss, 65, managed the Cherries between 1983 and 1992 and led them to the old Third Division title.
He told BBC Radio Solent: "They've got a good chance. This could be their year to win promotion. It would be great if they could.
"Paul Groves will do well. He's a smashing lad and will be a great manager. The club are in good hands."
