The Blues snapped up the midfielder over the summer as a free agent in spite of his recent troubles with injury. After making a goalscoring debut against Birmingham in the Carling Cup, he has not featured since coming on as a substitute in the Premier League against Aston Villa last month because of a calf injury. Platt told the Manchester Evening News: "He has been training for the last week so he will carry on and use the international break to keep that going."
