Hannover striker Mame Biram Diouf has been ruled out for the rest of the season after tearing a ligament in his left ankle.
The Bundesliga club says in a statement that an examination Thursday revealed the extent of the injury.
The Senegal striker player will miss his side's four remaining league games.
The 24-year-old Diouf scored six goals for Hannover in 10 league appearances since his midseason transfer for a reported ?1.8 million ($2.4 million) from Manchester United. He has also scored four in five Europa League games.
