Hannover has extended the contract of striker Didier Ya Konan by two years until 2014.
The Bundesliga club's sporting director Joerg Schmadtke says the Ivory Coast striker is ''one of the most important players in our squad.''
Ya Konan has scored nine goals to help Hannover reach third place in the Bundesliga.
The striker is missing the final match before the winter break against Nuremberg because of a knee injury.
