Mitch Hancox will miss Birmingham's final match of the season at home to Blackburn with a broken hand.

The left-back, 19, has enjoyed a memorable breakthrough campaign for Blues, registering a total of 20 appearances since first making his bow in early October.

But he will not get the chance to add to that tally having broken two bones in his left hand when colliding with Carlos Edwards and falling over the advertisement boards at Portman Road during last Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Ipswich.

Blues boss Lee Clark said: "Unfortunately scans show that Mitch has broken two bones in his hand.

"We won't be risking him for our last league game, although we would have done so if it had been a play-off fixture.

"The injury is not too serious and he will be ready to return for the start of pre-season."
