Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson says Antonio Valencia is likely to be sidelined for four weeks after injuring his hamstring in the 2-0 win over Ajax in the Europa League.

The Ecuador winger was hurt as he helped set up the second goal scored by Javier Hernandez, having come on as a second-half substitute in the first leg of the last-32 match.

Valencia, who missed the start of the season with an ankle injury, has been arguably United's best player in recent weeks as the reigning champions keep the pressure on local rival Manchester City in the English Premier League title race.

Ferguson at least has fellow wingers Nani and Ashley Young, the scorer of the opener against Ajax on Thursday, back to full fitness after recent injuries.
