Hammers 'keen on' Zenit strike ace

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is keen on signing Zenit St
Petersburg striker Sergey Kornilenko as he bids to bolster his
striking options.
The 26-year-old Belarus international is thought to be a loan
target for Hammers boss Zola, who has limited resources at his
disposal amid the club's financial struggles.
Kornilenko only joined the Russian outfit last summer after
impressing at former club FC Tom Tomsk, but has failed to break
into the Zenit side.
Tomsk had hoped to bring the 6ft 1in striker back to the
club, but manager Valeri Nepomniachi revealed they have been
overpowered in the race by bigger clubs.
"Apart from our interest, Sergey has proposals from a
foreign club and a top Russian club," Nepomniachi was quoted in the
Daily Mail.
"We understand West Ham are interested, so our chances are
probably not too great."
Kornilenko has nine goals in 30 internationals and has a
healthy goal ration across Eastern Europe having played for six
clubs, including Dynamo Kyiv and Dinamo Minsk.
