Hamburger SV have given Peru striker Paolo Guerrero a new four-year-contract.
The Bundesliga club announced the move on Tuesday while presenting new coach Armin Veh. Guerrero tore knee ligament in September, then delayed his return from Peru because of his fear of flying. Shortly into his comeback, Guerrero was banned for throwing a full bottle at a fan and missed the last five games of the season.
Veh signed a two-year contract. He won the Bundesliga title with Stuttgart in 2007. Veh also coached Wolfsburg as successor to Felix Magath but was fired in January, six months into the job.
Bruno Labbadia was sacked as Hamburg coach two games before the end of the season. Hamburg failed to qualify for a European competition.
