Gyan reflects on debut season

The Ghana international striker finished with 10 Premier League goals from 31 appearances, although a third of them came from the bench. Gyan, who cost £13million from Rennes after his World Cup 2010 exploits in South Africa, scored his last goal of the campaign in the 4-2 home win over Wigan on April 23, but was substituted less than 10 minutes later with a hamstring strain and missed the next three games. "That game against Wigan, I thought I was going to score a hat-trick," Gyan told the Chronicle. "When I got that goal, I said to myself that I needed to score more. "Unfortunately then I got the injury and it was disappointing that I was not able to reach my 15 goals. "Then again, I think most people are happy with my performances this season. "I came here just getting used to the game, but I think my performances have been quite impressive. "The fans have supported me and the team."
