After taking time to settle in English football following a move from Villarreal four years ago, Enrique has developed into a key player for Newcastle. However, the 25-year-old only has only a year left on his contract at St James' Park and is attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool. Gutierrez, though, will be praying the Magpies can hold on to the Spaniard. "On the pitch, what we have is down the left side is something no other Premier League team has," said Gutierrez. "It is a very special relationship between Jose and me. We have an amazing understanding, almost telepathic. Having Jose playing the way he does is brilliant for me, we know what each other is thinking. "I believe Enrique is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League, right up there with Ashley Cole, Patrice Evra and Gael Clichy. Jose is only young so he is going to get even stronger. "Enrique is one of the best players I have played with. I have been lucky because I have played with great left-back such as Fernando Navarro, who also played for Spain, Gabriel Heinze, for Argentina. Enrique is up with them."
