Arsenal will have to overcome Manchester City if they are to continue their bid to reach a second successive Carling Cup final.

Arsene Wenger's Gunners were drawn at home against Roberto Mancini's men in the quarter-finals while there is another mouthwatering tie at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea will face Liverpool.

Blackburn's reward for their dramatic extra-time win over Newcastle in the fourth round is an away tie at Cardiff.

Manchester United have the easiest-looking draw on paper, with Sir Alex Ferguson's side at home against Crystal Palace.

If United progress, it means they will have reached the semi-finals without having to play a top-flight side.

The ties are to be played the week beginning November 28.
