Pep Guardiola wants Barcelona to show more killer instinct in front of goal after seeing them leave it late before beating Athletic Bilbao 3-1.
In a similar situation to arch rivals Real Madrid, Barca have yet to truly find their scoring form in Primera Division this season and, having squeezed past Sporting Gijon 1-0 in midweek, were again made to sweat before sealing a deserved triumph over Athletic at San Mames.
Despite playing against 10 men from the 34th minute and taking the lead just after half-time through Seydou Keita, Barca had to wait until 16 minutes from time to earn a more comfortable advantage with Xavi netting their second.
Athletic threatened a late scare for the Catalan outfit when they pulled a goal back through Igor Gabilondo after Barca had lost David Villa to an 87th-minute red card, but the visitors secured the points thanks to a third goal from Sergio Busquets.
That victory lifted Barca up to second spot and within a point of leaders Valencia, but Guardiola was left wanting more from his side.
"We must have more desire, more ambition to say 'I'm in front of goal and I have to score'. When we create chances around the six-yard box we must score them," said Guardiola, whose team also failed to make the most of their many opportunities in last weekend's 2-1 win at Atletico Madrid.
That was Guardiola's only real concern following the win at San Mames, though.
He added: "We had a good game when it was XI v XI, we did well at the back, limiting the aerial play of Athletic.
"In the second half we attacked well and, to be honest, I'm very happy because matches at San Mames are tough. But we must finish games off (earlier) and we didn't do it.
"In any case the team has looked in good touch and I must congratulate the players because they've had a great game."
